REPAIRING OUR COMMUNITIES THROUGH STUDY AND ACTION

ST VINCENT DE PAUL MEAL SITE

Become a Tikkun Ha’Ir of Milwaukee Volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Meal Site

Be part of a team of THI volunteers serving milk, juice and coffee to about 400 men, women, and children while they eat their dinner at the St. Vincent de Paul Meal Site. You'll serve beverages, help clean up, and socialize with the guests. Click here for more information.

KNITTERS CIRCLE

Lots of Milwaukeeans are warmer because of knitter Debbie Rubenstein and the people she recruits to knit washable winter scarves and hats for people in need. Call Debbie if you would like to use her patterns or need knitting advice.

GLEAN MACHINE

Every year around the time of Shavuot THI collects new and gently used clothing, toys, books, games, household items, toiletries, bed linens and towels to replenish the stocks of community organizations, shelters and agencies. Volunteers are needed to deliver items, staff the Glean Machine in area synagogue parking lots, and sort the items at the end of the week..

Discussion Questions
1. How do talk about the connection between your social justice work?
2. How is that work a commandment (mitzvah)
3. How is that work a way to connect to being Jeiwsh?
4. Who could you ask to join you in volunteering with Tikkun Ha'Ir of Milwaukee?
5. How would you feel if every morning you set the goal of making a small difference?
